I met and worked with Jerry at Sabre. He was just wonderful and funny to work with. I remained friends with him through the years and will miss him greatly. The world has lost a shining light, but the Heavens have gained one.

I moved to Dallas in January 1997 and Jerry was one of the first people that I met. He was a great friend all of these years and was a very kind and generous man! I will miss his smile and laugh very much; I am so thankful that I was able to attend his bon voyage dinner in Dallas just before he left for Kentucky. My thoughts and prayers are with Jerry's family.

So sorry to hear about Gerald's passing. He was a wonderful life long friend. We went to Williamstown High School together & the University of Kentucky. For years he kept up with all the high school classmates and published some newsletters from time to time. My parents always appreciated his help in the jewelry store during the Christmas holidays.
God rest your soul dear friend,
Billy Engle & family

Bonnie and Brenda, I do hope you got my letter which I wrote as soon as Sue let me know about Gerald's passing. We shared 65 years of a beautiful friendship . How blessed you are to have such a loving brother, and how I, too, am blessed with his always understanding and caring relationship.
Teacher at Williamstown in 1948 and fellow student at UK in 1950 following. We kept in touch in a sharing, satisfying way. I am grieved, Juanita Kurtz Wright --

I first met Jerry when he first came to Dallas 27 years ago. One thing that many of us in Texas say about Jerry is that he taught many of us the true meaning of friendship. He was a kind man that would do anything for you. I am very thankful I was fortunate to have met him and that our friendship grew over the years. I appreciate what he did for me and will miss him very much. To quote another departed friend, Ronnie, “You look up friend in the dictionary and Jerry’s picture will pop up.” May he rest in peace.

I worked in Ockerman's library my Freshman year, 1974. Mr. Snodgrass made the "job" fun, and introduced me to books I might not have ever considered. He was a chaperone on our trip to Washington, DC that year. Blessed to have known him. I wish the family and friends peace at this difficult time.
