Danny R. Whaley, Sr.

Danny Royse Whaley, Sr. , 77, passed away Saturday August 25, 2018 at UK Medical Center in Lexington. Born in Owingsville, KY, he was the son of the late Lucian Rigdon and Alta Mae Royse Whaley.

On October 29, 1985, he was united in marriage to the former Geneva Covey, she survives. A former truck driver for American Standard and Ryder Trucking in Dayton, OH; he was a life-long member of the Teamster Union. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Danny is survived by three sons: Danny R. Whaley, Jr. of Omaha, Nebraska, Mike Whaley of Madison, Indiana, Kent W. Webster of Dry Ridge, KY; two daughters: Pamela Morgan of Delhi, OH, Sharon Fox of Lawrenceburg, IN; four brothers: Joe Whaley of Lexington, KY, A.B. Whaley of Flemingsburg, KY, Tom Whaley of Florida, Dale Whaley of Owingsville, KY; four sisters: Rita Bryon of Owingsville, KY, Verna Rogers of Owingsville, KY, Louise Six of Cynthiana, KY and Lena Jamison of Owingsville, KY. Twelve grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by a son: Mark Whaley, a brother: Charles Whaley, a granddaughter: Stephanie Whaley and a step-son: Kevin Webster.

Visitation will be Thursday August 30, 2018 at Stanley Funeral Homes – Williamstown, KY from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 with Rev. David Foley officiating. Burial will be in Williamstown Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are: Dan Whaley, Jr., Mike Whaley, Joe Whaley, Tom Whaley, Bruce Morgan and Lundy Fox.
