Loyd A. Adams

Loyd A. Adams , 71, husband of Patricia A. Adams and resident of the New Columbus Community, died Thursday August 16, 2018 at St. Elizabeth – Grant Hospice Care. Born in Corbin, KY, he was the son of the late Matt and Lula Felts Adams.

A skilled and accomplished woodworker and home remodeler, he loved working in his shop building and restoring anything that he could put his special touch on. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting, regardless of the season. Until he was not able to attend church due to his failing health, he and his wife faithfully attended the New Columbus Baptist Church. He was proud to serve his country in the U. S. Army in Vietnam from June of 1967 to June of 1969.

On September 4, 1971 in Corbin, KY, Loyd was united in marriage to the former Patricia A. Coffey, she survives. Additional survivors include one son: Jamon (Tracy) Adams of Crittenden, KY; one brother: Delbert Adams of New Columbus; two sisters: Mandy Miller of Corbin, KY,  Wanda Childers of Bedford, IN and brothers and sister-n-laws: Earl and Gloria Perry of Milford, OH and Richard and Sharon Coffey of Williamsburg, KY. Three grandchildren also survive: Travis Adams, Jayden Adams and Brooklyn Adams along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held Monday August 20, 2018 from 12:30 - 1:00 at New Columbus Baptist Church, located at 16185 New Columbus Road, Corinth, KY 41010.  A memorial service will be held at 1PM with Pastor Brad Vincent officiating. Inurnment will follow at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery-North in Williamstown, KY with full military honors.  in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Loyd's memory to New Columbus Baptist Church.
