Kathy Ward Burke

Mrs. Kathy W. Jones (Tackett) Burke, a Georgetown resident, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY at the age of 66.

Kathy was born on July 16, 1952 in Covington, KY to the late Orlie Jr. Jones and survived by Edith Mae Starks Jones.  She is retired as a psychologist and executive director with Bluegrass Family Preservation of Lexington, KY.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 18 years, Lewis Burke of Georgetown.  In addition to her husband, Kathy is survived by her mother, Edith Jones of Corinth, KY, three daughters, Michelle Singer of Georgetown, KY, Melissa Smedley (Christopher) of Georgetown, KY, Samantha Compton (Brett) of Knoxville, TN, step daughter Marjorie Johnson (Steven) of Lexington, KY, two brothers, Clifford Jones (Paula) of Williamstown, KY, Rodney Jones (Michelle) of Erlanger, KY, three sisters, Sheryl Adams (Gary) of Cynthiana, KY, Deborah Glass (Steve) of Owenton, KY, Orlana Sparrow (the late Calvin) of Corinth, KY, nine grandchildren, Emmaline, Aggie, Ben, Ella, Sarah, Sammie Lynn, Faith, Rachel, Micaiah.

Kathy is a member of the Corinth Christian Church and Northside Christian Church.  She is a UK Alumni, earned her Master's degree of Psychology and is a KY Colonel.  She loves to read books, UK Basketball, has been known throughout her life as an excellent cook, but most importantly, she dearly loved to spend time with her grandchildren who called her "Momo".

Visitation will be Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 5-8pm.  Funeral Services will be Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018 at 2pm at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Corinth, KY.
