Mr. James Charles Skinner of Williamstown, KY. passed away Saturday, July 28 at home at the age of 85. Mr. Skinner, or Charlie as he was known to family and friends, was born January 30, 1933 in Scott County, KY. to the late James Franklin Skinner and Lillie Wright Skinner. Mr. Skinner was a truck driver and mechanic and had proudly served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Skinner loved anything automotive especially racing. He enjoyed traveling and going to the casinos. During warm weather months he liked to go to yard sales and antiquing.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Skinner was preceded in death by his wife: Betty Frances Rider Skinner, by a son: Gary Wayne Skinner, by a daughter: Margaret Winkle McCormick, by a brother: Carl Skinner, by a sister: Mary Alice Cook and by a half-sister: Minnie Litkin.
Mr. Skinner is survived by a daughter: Debbie Skinner of Williamstown, KY., sons: James Skinner and his wife Lena of Williamstown, KY., Michael Skinner and his wife Tammy of Dry Ridge, KY., a brother: George Franklin Skinner of San Antonio, TX., 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
Funeral services for Mr. James Charles Skinner will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 1 in the chapel of the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will be there on Wednesday, August 1 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Burial with military honors will be in the Williamstown Cemetery.
