William "Bill" Henry Weidner

August 4, 1942 - July 1, 2018

William Henry Weidner , 75, passed away Sunday July 1, 2018 at Carroll Co. Memorial Hospital under the care of Bluegrass Care Navigators. Born August 4, 1942 in Covington, KY, he was the son of the late William Harold and Sarah Lynn Ekfer Weidner.

On May 30, 2001, Bill was united in marriage to the former Viola Mullins Hodge; she survives. He retired after 29 years with CSX Transportation, where he served as a Carman. He was a 1960 graduate of Holmes High School. From 1961-1965, Bill proudly served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Verona, KY and volunteered with the Walton Senior Citizen’s Center.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Viola, include two step-sons: Randall (Theresa) Hodge of Verona, KY and Ricky Hodge of Dry Ridge, KY and a step-daughter: Vicki Ann Warrington of Verona, KY. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Joyce Ann and a step-son: Timothy Gilbert.

Visitation will be Thursday July 5, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 with Rev. Chad Brannan officiating. Full military honors will be conducted immediately following the funeral at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona; a meal will be served at New Bethel Baptist Church following.

Entombment will be Monday July 9, 2018 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery – North in Williamstown at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to Bluegrass Care Navigators or New Bethel Baptist Church c/o Stanley Funeral Homes P. O. Box 130   Williamstown, KY 41097
