Dorothy Hill Kennedy

May 20, 1924 - June 25, 2018

Dorothy Hill Kennedy was born May 20, 1924 in Covington, Kentucky and passed away June 25, 2018 in Edgewood, Kentucky at 94 years of age.  She was the daughter of the late Affa Hill and the late Oakley and Florence Marie Schuerman Hill Canaday.

On Aug. 29, 1957 Dorothy was united in marriage to Rev. Jeff Kelly Kennedy who preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2010.  In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by 3 sons: Ronald Kennedy, Kelly Lee Cameron and Dwight Kennedy.

She is survived by a son: Jeff Alan Kennedy (Shannon) of Erlanger; a daughter: Nancy Kennedy Howe (Rodney) of Dry Ridge; 11 Grandchildren: Todd (Amy) Kennedy, David (Marcia) Kennedy, Dana Kennedy, Justin Kennedy, Jessica Kennedy, Matt (Rachel) Kennedy, Madison Kennedy, Stephanie (Scott) Conrad, Shawna (Chris) Jansen, Lauren (Andrew) Lunsford, Timothy (Lyndsey) Howe; 16 Great Grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was a member of Knoxville Baptist Church (Williamstown), where she served alongside her husband who was pastor there 1972-1989 plus additional pastorates including Grassy Run Baptist Church (Williamstown), Bethany Baptist Church (Williamstown), Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Dry Ridge), and Trinity Baptist Church (Falmouth).

She was also a US Navy Veteran of WWII (Dec. 1943-Dec. 1945), having served as an aircraft instrument technician at Pearl Harbor.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, June 29, 2018 at Knoxville Baptist Church in Dry Ridge with Rev. Todd Dawalt and Rev. Steve Kellam officiating.  Visitation will be 4:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.  Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Knoxville Baptist Church or St. Elizabeth Hospice.
