Lonnie Van Brashear was born February 12, 1942 in Napoleon, Kentucky and passed away March 12, 2018 at his residence in Warsaw, Kentucky at the age of 76.  He was the son of the late William Goebel and Willetta Brashear.

Lonnie was a retired Welder for Trenwa.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was also a member of the the Concord Baptist Church in Gallatin Co. and a former member of the Good Guys Club in Warsaw.  He loved working on cars and especially drag racing.

On Dec. 18, 1970 Lonnie was united in marriage to Arlene Ginger Boyers Brashear.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters: Connie Coffey (Richard) of Milford, OH and Rhonda Grillo (Tim) of Hernando, Mississippi; a sister: Lois Webster of Elliston, KY; 5 grandchildren: Chris Campbell, Corey Campbell, Jeffery Campbell, Michael Grillo and John Grillo; and an adopted son: Brian Saffell of Warsaw.

He was preceded in death by a son: Lonnie William Brashear; and 2 sisters: Helen Speagle and Nancy Plunkett.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona.  Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Thursday.  Burial with military honors will be in the Napoleon Cemetery.
