Harold Wayne Barnes, Sr.

February 9, 1941 - January 10, 2018

Mr. Harold Wayne Barnes, Sr. of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Wednesday, January 10 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, KY. at the age of 76.  Mr. Barnes was born February 9, 1941 in Harrison County, KY. to the late Cleo Barnes and Marybelle Dunigan Barnes.  Mr. Barnes was a retired truck driver and a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Jonesville, KY. but had attended the Crittenden Baptist Church in more recent years.  Mr. Barnes also formerly worked as an auctioneer and sold large animals at auction as well as large estate sales.  He had a lifelong love of horses and polled Hereford cattle and for several years managed cattle farms.  He is fondly remembered for his love of his grandchildren and always enjoyed talking and visiting with people.  Mr. Barnes was a regular for many years with the coffee group at the local McDonald's.  Mr. Barnes also had proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife: Alma Noel Barnes, a daughter: Susan Barnes of Villa Hills, KY., 3 sons: Harold W. "Bud" Barnes, Jr.  and his wife Lori, of Corinth, KY., Stephen C. Barnes and his wife Julie of Ava Maria, FL., and Heath L. Barnes and his wife Carla of Crittenden, KY.   Mr. Barnes has 8 grandchildren: Samantha Leach, Abby Leach, Allison Leach, Cole Barnes, Jenna Barnes, Emily Barnes, Alayna Barnes and Jared Barnes.

Funeral services for Mr. Harold Wayne Barnes, Sr. will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, January 15 at the Crittenden Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Miller officiating.  Visitation will be Sunday, January 14 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm also at the Crittenden Baptist Church.    Burial will be in the Jonesville IOOF Cemetery, Jonesville, KY.
