Cody Lane Robertson

April 14, 1999 - November 1, 2017

Cody Lane Robertson , 18, of Marion, IL, formerly of the New Columbus Community of Corinth, passed away on Wednesday November 1, 2017 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Jackson Co, Illinois. He was born on April 14, 1999 in Georgetown, KY .  He is survived by his parents: James Reed (J.R.) Robertson of Williamstown, KY and Amberly Runion Gaudreau of Marion, IL.

Cody is a 2017 graduate of Marion High School in Marion, IL, where he was an active member of the Future Farmers of America. He loved spending time on the family farm in New Columbus, where he spent a lot of time hunting, fishing and riding horses. Upon graduation, he began work as a delivery driver for an automotive parts service in Carbondale, IL.  His aspirations were to become a certified electrician. He was a believer in Jesus Christ, having made a profession of faith in 2015; he had the honor of being baptized by his maternal grandfather in Owen Co.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a sister: Courtney Robertson of Marion, IL, his paternal grandparents: James “Reed” and Ollie Mae Robertson of Corinth and his maternal grandparents: Sullivan “Sully” and Kathy Runion of Owenton, KY.

Visitation will be Tuesday November 7, 2017 at McDaniel Funeral Home – Corinth, KY from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 with the Revs. Blake Robertson and Kelley Runion officiating. Burial will be in the Robertson Family Cemetery on Carr Road in New Columbus.

Serving as pallbearers will be: J. R. Robertson, Sonny Robertson, Kelley Runion, Keith Runion, Blake Robertson and Byron Robertson.
