Orville “Little O” “Odd” Farmer passed away at his residence in Newport, KY on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the age of 95. He was the husband of Mary Simpson Farmer.

Mr. Farmer was a former miner and a former laborer for Lawson’s Manufacturing of whom he retired from after 19 years. He was a purple heart veteran and medic in the Army during World War II. He loved Cincinnati Red’s baseball and had a passion for all baseball and other sports. He loved his family dearly and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Farmer is the last child of ten, born to the late Cleveland and Nannie Farmer, and grew up in Harlan, KY. Mr. Farmer married the love of his life, Mary Addilee Simpson on March 8, 1947 of whom he gratefully spent over 70 years with. In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by two daughters, Linda Owens (Ronnie) of Newport, KY, Judy Liescke of Odessa, TX, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and thirteen great–great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, November 3, 2017 from 10:30 to 12:30 pm at the Elliston – Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY. Funeral Services will also be Friday at 12:30pm at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow in the KY Veteran’s Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY. Memorials are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Charitable Trust, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
