Mr. Leo E. Currier of Corinth, KY. passed away Saturday, October 28 at the home of his daughter in Berry, KY. at the age of 79. Mr. Currier was born June 13, 1938 in Flint, Michigan to the late Claude Currier and Patty Jean Saxton Currier. Mr. Currier was a carpenter and farmer and a faithful member of the Bread of Life Lutheran Church in Georgetown, KY. Mr. Currier loved working the land and enjoyed any outdoor activities including hunting and fishing. As a young man he was quite an athlete and served as captain of his high school football team as well as participating in pole vaulting. He also served as class president during his senior year.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Currier was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years: Carol G. Currier in 2016, by sons: Leo A. Currier in 1999 and Brian L. Currier in 2017. He was also preceded in death by a grandson: Jacob Tyler Sargent in 2008.
Mr. Currier is survived by a daughter: Debra A. Sargent and her husband Nobel Sargent of Berry, KY., 2 sisters: Marie Stalker and Joyce Purcell both of Michigan. He has 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 12:00 noon Wednesday, November 1 at the Bread of Life Lutheran Church, 700 Clayton Avenue, Georgetown, KY. 40324. Visitation will be at the church also on Wednesday, November 1 from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon.
Memorial contributions if desired may be directed to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the the American Cancer Society.
