Mary Joan Mefford

February 28, 1939 - October 27, 2017

Mary Joan Mefford , 78, a resident of the Natlee Community of Corinth, passed away Fridat October 27, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lexington. She was born on February 28, 1939 in Lexington, KY to the late Ray and Rose “Bobbie” Payne Adams.

Mary Joan was a beautician for many years; she was a faithful member of New Columbus Baptist Church.

Mary Joan is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gerald Mefford, whom she married on March 7, 1957. Additional survivors include one daughter: Karen Hensley of Waco, KY and two sons: Jeff (Lisa) Mefford of Lexington, KY and Greg Mefford of Corinth, KY.  Four grandchildren also survive: Lyndsey Nicole Mefford, Morgan Conrad, Makala Hensley and Madison Hensley.  She was preceded in death by a granddaughter,  Macie Tanae Hensley.

Visitation will be Monday October 30, 2017 at New Columbus Baptist Church  16185 New Columbus Rd.  Corinth, KY 41410 (OwenCo.) from 2:00 – 4:00. Funeral services will begin at 4:00 with Rev. Brad Vincent officiating. Interment will be in New Columbus Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to New Columbus Baptist Church.
