Mrs. Edith Rodgers of Crittenden, KY. passed away Monday, April 17 at the Grant Center Nursing Home at the age of 95. Mrs. Rodgers was born February 23, 1922 in Laurel County, KY. to the late Sam Harris and Lillie Elam Harris. Mrs. Rodgers was a homemaker and a long time devoted member of the Gardnersville Baptist Church. She served as a Sunday school teacher for 50 years, served as president of the WMU and helped with any function that involved the kitchen.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her husband: Lawrence "Mutt" Rodgers, a daughter: Joy Beach, and sons: Lyle Rodgers, Dennis Rodgers and Mike Rodgers.
Mrs. Rodgers is survived by a daughter: Melody Adams of Crittenden, KY., a son: James Rodgers of Crittenden, KY., a sister: Faye Dungan of Williamstown, KY., 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Rodgers will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, April 22 at the Gardnersville Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Kozar officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday, April 22 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Burial will be in the Crittenden Cemetery.
Memorial contributions if desired may be directed to the Gardnersville Baptist Church.
