Vernon Willoughby

March 5, 1941 - April 8, 2017

A Crittenden resident, Vernon Willoughby passed away at his residence on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the age of 76.  He was the husband of Elaine Collins Willoughby.

Mr. Willoughby was the owner and operator of Willoughby Tree Service for most of his life.  He loves to tend to his gardens, travel and spend time with his grandchildren.

On March 5, 1941, Vernon was born to the late Shirley and Margaret Merrill Willoughby.   On Feb. 12, 1961 Vernon was united in marriage to his lovely wife of 56 years, Elaine Collins Willoughby.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, James E. (Terry)Willoughby of Crittenden, KY, three daughters, Donna (Robert) Turner of Ft. Knox, KY, Patricia (Randel) Justice of Dry Ridge, KY, Becky (Tye) Phipps of Demossville, KY, one brother, Allen Willoughby, two sisters, Shirley Scroggins of Florence, KY, Darlene Lawrence of Walton, KY, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Mr. Willoughby was preceded in death by his daughter, McLinda Jane Willoughby and sister, Beverly Jean Green.

Visitation will be Monday, April 10, 2017 from 12 noon- 2 pm at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden, KY.  Funeral Services will be at 2pm.  Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona, KY.  Memorials are suggested to the St. Elizabeth Hospice.
