Geneva Lee Adams Kells of Butler, KY, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the River Valley Nursing Home in Butler, KY at the age of 96.

Geneva was born in Pendleton County on April 16, 1920 to the late William Goble Adams and Vadia Poore Adams.

Geneva was a homemaker and member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of Pendleton Co. for the past 80 years.

Geneva and Frank Emery Kells were united in marriage on February 4, 1939.  Frank preceded her in death on March 30, 2003 following 64 years of marriage.

Geneva is survived by one son, Kenneth Lee Kells (Marilyn) of Butler, KY, one daughter, Audrey Louise Ward of Burlington, KY, one brother, Clarence Adams (Bettye Jo) of Berry, KY, two sisters, Ruth West (Marvin) of Williamstown, KY, Cecil Williams of Ft. Wright, KY, seven grandchildren, Tina Wilson Ginn (Tommy), Kenneth Gene Kells (Brenda), Michael Lee Kells (Tina), Lisa Kells Johnting (Alan), Tonya Carol Brock (Perry), Shawn L. Ward (Missy), Barry James Wilson, eleven great grandchildren:  John Michael Kells (Missy), Jennifer Johnting Thornsbury (Eric), Kenneth Gene Kells, Jr. ("JR"), Adam Thomas Ginn (Amanda), Derrick Lee Franklin Kells (Ciara), Ashley Ginn Setser (Chad), Cody James Thierauf, Brittany Marie Kells, Haleigh Amanda Ward, Taryn Marissa Ward, Joshua Michael Kells and twelve great great grandchildren: Drew Michael Ganszen, Joshua Brandon Ganszen, Kamryn Page Boyd, Mickah Ann Boyd, Bryce Alan Thornsbury, Adam Thomas Ginn, II, Grayson Thomas Ginn, Kennedy Marie Ginn, Sophia Kaye Setser, Charles Killian Davidson, Kobe Franklin Kells and Reagan Hope Setser.

In addition to her parents and her late husband Frank, Geneva is preceded in death by a son in law, Dallas Ward, one brother, Harold William Adams (Kathleen), two sisters, Dorothy Adams Justice (Herman), Mildred Adams Courtney (Junior) and one great great grandson, Aiden Michael Kells.

She was affectionately referred to as Aunt Nennie by her beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 11am-1pm at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY.  Funeral Services will follow at 1pm.  Burial will be at the Williamstown Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, the Hospice of Hope in Maysville, KY or River Valley Nursing Home, Butler, KY.
