Katherine Gray Flynn

October 6, 1938 - February 20, 2017

A Crittenden resident, Mrs. Katherine Densler Flynn passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at her residence at the age of 78.  She was the widow of George William Flynn.

Kathy was born at home in Glencoe, KY on October 6, 1938 to the late Floyd Densler and Ernestine Poland Densler.  Kathy learned at a very young age many manners from her great grandmother "Ma" who raised her.  She walked to the Glencoe Elementary School every day from grades 1 through 8.  She then quit school to work and obtained her GED.

At the young age of 14, Kathy Densler met George Flynn through her brother.  Little did she know, she would go on to marry George at age 18.  Throughout their marriage Kathy worked as a dental assistant in Cincinnati, OH, she worked for Dr. Goodman in Williamstown, and spent many years as a medical assistant for Dr. William Waller. She was a certified X-Ray Technician and EMT.

Kathy and George had three children.  David Joseph Flynn whom passed away in 2012 and was married to Connie McGinnis of Villa Hills, Dennis Flynn whom married Kelly Hilbert, Taylor Mill, KY, and daughter, Debbie Hodge of Independence, KY.  George passed away in 1994.  Kathy is also survived by one brother, Danny Densler of Covington, KY, four sisters, Peggy Densler Chambers of Walton, KY, Edith Rosemary "Jo" Densler Shumate of Florence, KY, Vera Densler Batton of Cincinnati, OH and Barbara Densler Michaels of Walton, KY, and seven grandchildren.

Kathy was preceded in death by 6 brothers: Gene Densler, Bill Densler, Raymond Densler, Ron Densler, Jim Densler and Claude Cyrus "Doc" Densler; and 1 sister: Shirley Densler Kincaid .

Kathy was a long-time member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Walton, KY.  She loved to work in her garden, read books, in her younger days square dance, but most of all, to spend meaningful days and nights with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017 from 10am-11am at the All Saints Catholic Church in Walton, KY.  Mass will begin at 11am.  Mass of Christian burial will follow at the Crittenden Cemetery in Crittenden, KY.  Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home of Crittenden is handling arrangements.
