Earl A. Johnson

April 13, 1929 - January 26, 2017

Mr. Earl A. Johnson of Williamstown, KY. passed away Thursday, January 26 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. at the age of 87.  Mr. Johnson was born April 13, 1929 in Gray, Kentucky to the late Luster Johnson and Rose Phipps Johnson.  Mr. Johnson retired from the construction trades and was an accomplished woodworker and cabinet maker.  Mr. Johnson was a longtime member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ where he served as an elder, former Sunday school teacher and choir member.  He also was a former school bus driver for the Grant County School System.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a brother: Ellis Johnson.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife Mabel Hopper Johnson, 1 daughter: Susan Koebcke and her husband Daryl of Williamstown, KY., 3 grandchildren: Nathan Koebcke of Lexington, KY., Natalie Koebcke Leach and her husband Adam of Kyle, TX., Neal Koebcke of Knoxville, TN., 3 sisters: Doris Martin of London, KY., Freda Austin of South Carolina, Donna Coates of West Chester, OH., 3 brothers: Edward Johnson of Somerset, KY., Joe Johnson and Douglas Johnson both of Williamstown, KY.

Funeral services for Mr. Earl A. Johnson will be conducted 3:00 pm Saturday, February 4 at the Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ with Bro. Greg Marksberry, Bro. Lynn White and Bro. Trey Faull officiating.  Visitation will be at the church also on Saturday, February 4 from 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Corinth I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Memorial contributions if desired may be directed to the Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ or the Northward Christian Assembly.
