Carolyn Faye Shafer Paynter was born in Pendleton County, Kentucky on June 13, 1941 and passed away at St. Elizabeth, Edgewood, Kentucky on January 22, 2017 at the age of 75. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Lewis, Sr. and Lucille Jacobs Shafer.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Steve Paynter; son, Stephen Scott Paynter and his wife, Janette, of Nashville, Tennessee; daughter, Bobbie Jo Paynter of Falmouth; brother, Joseph Lewis Shafer, Jr. and his wife, Elaine, of Dry Ridge; sisters: Gertrude Owens of San Leandro, California, Barbara Webster and her husband, Jim, of Walton and Shirley Wash and her husband, Jimmy, of Owenton; grandchildren: Kaila Renchen and her husband, Nick, Anthony Paynter, Allison Paynter, Stephen Paynter, Colby Paynter and Darah Swords; great grandchildren: Kalia Renchen, David Renchen and Emily Renchen.
A member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church since the age of 9, Carolyn retired from Performance Pipe in Williamstown in 2004. She served as Office Manager there for over 30 years. She was a graduate in the last class at Morgan High School in Pendleton County.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Thursday. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.
