Barbara Jean Martin Baker

June 16, 1930 - September 28, 2015

Barbara Jean Martin Baker of Verona, KY was born June 16, 1930 in Zanesville, OH and died Monday, Sept. 28, 2015 in Verona, KY at the age of 85.

She was the daughter of the late Harley and Dorothy Goins Martin. She attended the University of Cincinnati, was a retired Labor and Delivery Room and Recovery Nurse after 38 years at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati where she was also an active member of the Quarter Century Club, and a member of the South Fork Christian Church.
Surviving is her husband of 58 years, James McKinley Baker; 1 sister, Loretta Martin Hardin of Wichita, KS; 1 niece, Kim Hardin Saunders of Zanesville, OH; 1 nephew, Von Hardin of Wichita, KS; great nieces and nephews, Denea, Renae, Tyrel, and Tanner; 1 great-great niece, Markia; sister-in-law Helen Baker; and close friends and caregivers, Tim and Betty Slusher, and Cody Moore who was like a grandson.
In addition toher parents, she was also preceded in death by her father and mother-in-laws, Russell and Lennie Baker, great nephew, Tyler Hardin, and brother-in-law, Charles Baker.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona, KY followed by burial at the Baker Family Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00am-2:00pm Wednesday, at the funeral home.
