James Daniel Staffey Sr

December 11, 1948 - September 23, 2015

James Daniel Staffey, Sr. was born in Oneida, Tennessee on December 11, 1948 and passed away at his home in Williamstown, Kentucky on September 23, 2015 at the age of 66. He was the son of the late Emmitt and Maxine Claudia Carter Staffey

On September 24, 1971, Danny was united in marriage with the former Sandra Diane Roy. From this union two children were born: James Daniel Staffey, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio and Tricia Renee Johnson of Florence. In addition to his loving wife and children, Danny is survived by two grandsons: Kyle Staffey and Jacob Johnson; one brother: Don Staffey of Stearns, Kentucky; three sisters: Jann Hull of Indianapolis, Indiana, Maxine Miller of Whitley City, Kentucky and Barbara Quenu of Knoxville, Tennessee. A brother, William Jackson Staffey and a sister, Kay Lynn Staffey both preceded him in death.

Mr. Staffey was a Signal Maintainer for the Southern Railway which later became the Norfolk Southern Railroad for over 38 years. He retired in 2009. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served his country in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He was an active member of the American Legion Post in Williamstown where he served as Commander.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Man St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown. Memorials are suggested to the Hope Lodge in Lexington, KY or the Grant County Relay for Life.
