Dr William McClure Waller

July 6, 1930 - September 20, 2015

Dr. William M. Waller was born July 6, 1930 in Verona, Kentucky and passed away Sept. 20, 2015 in Verona, Kentucky at the age of 85. He was the son of the late William Edward and Pattie Vest Waller. On Sept. 24, 1960, Dr. Waller was united in marriage to Leola Jo Crismon Waller.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, he was also survived by three daughters: Patti Jo "PJ" Waller Bowman (Robert) of London, KY, Debra Lee Waller Franks Messer (D. Franklin) of Verona, KY, and Karen Ann Waller Rodgers (Steve) of Verona; a son: William Joseph Waller (Celeste) of Jackson, Wyoming; 10 Grandchildren: Hannah M. Rodgers of Scotland, Daniel A. Franks of Verona, Michaela V. Bowman of London, KY, Emma L. Rodgers of Verona, Wm. Jared Rodgers of Verona, Alaina C. Bowman of London, KY, Dora L. Franks of Verona, J. Claire Bowman of London, KY, Jenna C. Rodgers of Verona, and William J. "Wiley" Waller, Jr. of Jackson, Wyoming; and 9 nieces & nephews: Kitty, Edward, Mark, Lori, Terry, Austin, Sharon, Sandra, and David.

Dr. Waller was a retired physicianserving the Walton & Verona communities at Walton Family Medicine. He wasa veteran of the UnitedStatesNavy. He was also a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Verona where he served as Deacon. He also served Northern Kentucky in many other capacities. He was on the Board of Directors of Verona Bank; Walton-Verona School Board; Board of Directors at Booth Hospitalwhere he served as chairman of the long range planning committee as well as many other committees; Founding and Organizing member of Verona Life Squad; board member for Boone Co. Health Dept.; Verona High School Alumni Association Committee; President of staff at Booth Hospital in Covington; Chairman of Audit Committee at Booth Hospital and St. Elizabeth Hospitals; Founding member of the Crittenden Rook League; 1979 Delegate to KY Medical Association from Boone Co.; Board Certified for Family Practice and Geriatric Medicine; and Member of Kentucky Medical Association, Boone Co. Medical Society, Kentucky Academy of Family Practice, American Medical Association, andAmerican Academy of Family Practice.

In addition to serving his church and professional obligations, Dr. Waller also enjoyed playing softball, basketball and Rook as well as square dancing. He was also a Tobacco and Cattle Farmer.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, Sept. 25, 2015 at the New Bethel Baptist Church in Verona. Visitation will be 3:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday at New Bethel Baptist Church. Burial with Military Honors will be at the New Bethel Cemetery.
