Audrey Lee Hammond

December 19, 1936 - August 2, 2015

Audrey Lee Hammond was born in Monterey, Kentucky on December 19, 1936 and passed away at the Providence Health Care in Warsaw, Kentucky on August 2, 2015. He was the son of the late Henry Owen and Maggie Tucker Hammond.

Mr. Hammond was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Sullivan Hammond on July 27, 2007. He is survived by daughters: Renee McNay of Williamstown andPrincess Joseph of Glencoe; sons: Jeff Hammond of Sparta, Tim Hammond of Gallatin County and Dwight Hammond of Warsaw; sister: Susie Sullivan of Carrollton; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchilden. One son, Audrey Hammond, Jr. also preceded his father in death.

Audrey was a lifelong farmer and formerly was a heavy duty mechanic for the Kentucky Department of Highways working in the Owen County and Carroll County highway barns. He started out his working life at the Kahn's Meat Stockyards in Cincinnati.

Funeral services for Mr. Hammond will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Hamiton - Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton-Verona Rd., Verona, KY 41092. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from Noon until 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Napoleon IOOF Cemetery, Gallatin County.
