Kay Geraldine Kerr

April 14, 1940 - July 1, 2015

Kay Geraldine (Messer) Kerr, 75, of Dry Ridge, KY and originally Cincinnati, OH passed from us as she took her husband's hand once again, joining him in heaven's grace on July 1st, 2015, while watched over by family members and in the care of St. Elizabeth hospice.

In her earlier years, Kay worked for Good Sam hospital in the city of Cincinnati. She then met and married a handsome country boy and trucker, Lonnie Kerr, of Columbia, KY, and together they raised three kids, helped care for grandkids, and created a cozy little city meets country home life in northern KY.

Kay enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going out with her husband dancing, taking in a picture show, and strolling through flea markets and shopping malls viewing trinkets of reminisce and searching for family gifts. She liked spending time outdoors tending to her flowers, enjoying a sunny day on the porch, and singing to the oldies and Elvis Presley.

Kay looked younger than her years, a compliment she appreciated though felt short of earning. Her humor and banter she was well known for.Kay took the time to send care gift packages to military family members making them feel especially close despite the miles. The struggles of her last few years wore heavy on her, but her heart always held strong and that strength was admired time and again.

Preceded in death by her father, Henry Gerald Messer and mother, Mathilde A. (Jeannet) Messer; her brother, Donald Roy Messer, and by her husband of 54 years, Lonnie Alton Kerr.Survived by two daughters, Laura Jean Sizelove and Annette Geraldine Kerr Arrington (of Memphis, TN); one son, Lonnie A. Kerr II; six grandchildren, Christy, Robby, Terrie, Brian, Kyle & Madison; three great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Jacob and Matilda; and was happily awaiting her fourth great-grandchild.

A beloved wife, mother, and proud grandma, Kay's absence will surely leave a tearing void in the lives of her loved ones, friends, and her little dog, Joy.Though now far from their reach; always close to their hearts she will remain.

Rev. Ronald Angel will be officiating the funeral service at 2:30 pm, Sunday, July 5th, 2015, at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden, KY.Visitation will be held 12:30-2:30 pm at the funeral home.
