Von Church, 82 of Florence, formerly of Gallatin County,passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012 at his residence.


He was a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines for twenty eight years, a member of the Salem Baptist Church in Walton, a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union #1303 of Cincinnati, OH, a Kentucky Colonel and also served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.


He is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Dorothy Edmonds Church of Florence; a son, Michael Wayne Church of Aiken, SC; three daughters, Gerima Sue Tromm of Ghent, Nancy Ann Slusher of Covington, Dottie Hylton of Sparta; two brothers, Emitt Church of Warsaw, Emil Church of Michigan; two sisters, Rosie Church of Illinois, Peggy Goforth of Ohio; two half-sisters, Vicki Church of Cincinnati, OH, Sharon Church of Michigan; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Don Juan and Nancy Bessie Ramey Church, a son, Arlie Vaughn Church, Jr., a brother, Joseph Eddie Church, and three sisters.


Visitation will be 12(noon)-2pm with funeral services at 2pm on Saturday, July 7th at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton-Verona Rd., Verona, KY 41092. Burial will be in the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona.


Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of the Bluegrass, 7388 Turfway Road, Florence, KY 41042.
