Melvin "Bud" Montgomery

October 27, 1934 - May 27, 2012

Melvin D. "Bud" Montgomery, resident of Dry Ridge,was born in Inez, Kentucky on October 27, 1934 and passed away at the University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 27, 2012 at the age of 77. He was the son of the late Robert and Lavisa Whited Montgomery.

Bud is survived by his wife, Brenda Louise Bowen Montgomery; two sons: David Montgomery of Norwood, OH and Stephen M. Montgomery of Anderson Township, OH; three daughters: Julianne Nerl of Terrace Park, OH, Melanie Rothschuh of Norwood, OH and Shari Conley of Williamstown, KY; one stepdaughter: Roxanne Spears of Summerville, SC; one sister: Phyllis Jackson of Mt. Olivet, KY; 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. A son, Donald Scott Montgomery preceded his father in death on July 20, 2011.

A member of the Painters and Allied Trade Union, Mr. Montgomery was a painter in the Cincinnati area. He was a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Pendleton County, KY and a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM Wednesday. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North, Williamstown. Memorials are suggested to the Grant County Relay for Life.
