Franklin "Woody" Phillips, 78, of Florence, formerly of Williamstown, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center, Edgewood.


He worked in the shipping department at Lingo Manufacturing, Florence for over 35 years and for the 5 Star Laundromat in Florence. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local Union #522 and was the son of the late Bradley Felix and Clora Mae Stidham Phillips.


Survivors include his wife of over fifty one years, Opal Ginter Phillips of Florence; a son, Jeffrey K. Phillips of Morning View; two daughters, Virginia Faye Grey of Crittenden, Patricia Ellen Beauvier of Williamstown; a brother, Memphis Phillips of Marion, VA; three sisters, Josephine Stanley of Jonesville, VA, Nancy Collins of Six Mile, SC, Shirley Skidmore of Jonesville, VA; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.


Visitation is 5pm to 8pm, Tuesday, January 17, 2012 with funeral service at 11:00am, Wednesday, January 18th both at the Sherman Full Gospel Assembly, 3295 Dixie Highway, Dry Ridge, KY 41035. Burial will be in the Williamstown Cemetery.
