Robert C. Asher, Sr., 72 of Corinth passed away Monday, January 2nd at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood.
He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator and a proud serviceman who served our country in the US Army 101st Airborne for two tours of duty in the Vietnam War.
Born in Hyden, Leslie County, KY, he was the son of the late Richard and Lucy Hensley Asher. Survivors include his wife of forty five years of companionship, Sharon Faye Leggett Asher of Corinth; two daughters, Teresa Asher Ennis of Williamstown, Denise Asher of Demossville; one son, Robert C. Asher, Jr. of Corinth; two brothers, Pearl Asher of Hyden, Jimmy Asher of Corinth; three sisters, Bonnie Hoskins of Carrollton, Aliceruth Beers of Warsaw, Daisy James of Williamstown; six grandchildren- Tessie Ennis, Destiny Ennis, Breydon Ennis, Austin Blevins, Caity Richardson, Issabella Asher; two great grandchildren- Emmah Morton and Carter Morris.
Visitation will be 4-8pm, Thursday, January 5, 2012 with funeral service at 12:30pm, Friday, January 6, 2012 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 North Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-North, Williamstown, KY.
