Shirley Sexton

February 7, 1921 - December 17, 2011

Shirley Sexton was born in Powell County, Kentucky on February 7, 1921 and passed away at his home in Corinth, Kentucky on December 16, 2011 at the age of 80. He was theson of the late Leonard Orville and Callie King Sexton.

Shirley is survived by his wife, Betty Mae Connelly Sexton; his son, Leonard Sexton of Delhi Township, Ohio; his daughters: Cherry Draper of Flag Pond, Tennessee and Karin Ann Cuneo of Union, Kentucky; his half brother, Sheridan Sexton of Corinth, Kentucky; six grandchildren: Shelly, Derene, Amy, Trish, Samantha and Scott; 10 great grandchildren and many other relatives. His first wife Evelyn died in 2006. A grandchild, Tina Sexton and a great grandchild, Xavier Ellis both preceded Mr. Sexton in death.

Mr. Sexton was a welder and worked for the CHC Fabricating company in Carthage, Ohio for over 32 years. He was a member of the Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Williamstown, KY.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY with visitation at the funeral home from 4-8 PM on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Mason Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association or the St. Elizabeth Hospice.
