Robert "Bob" Sharpe

January 24, 1926 - December 15, 2011

Robert "Bob" Sharpe, of Williamstown, was born January 24, 1926 in Massac County, IL and passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, in Edgewood, KY at the age of 85.
Bob was the son of the late Alvie Alex and Iva PayneSharpe, he was a member of the Williamstown Baptist Church, and he was united in marriage to his wife Norma L. Ware on November 20, 1944. Bob was a meat cutter and butcher by trade and worked for several Kentucky grocery stores, he retired from A & P Grocery, work in the meat department for the University of Kentucky College and Hospital, he was head butcher for Pic-Pac grocery in Williamstown, KY, and then went on to own and operate is own grocery "Bob''s Meats" in Williamstown until 1989. Following the sale of his store, Bob continued in the work force as a sales clerk for Grant County Oil Co. and as a greeter at the Dry Ridge Wal-Mart.
In addition to Norma, his wife of 67 years, Bob is also survived by 4 sons, Robert M. Sharpe of Versailles, KY, Larry A. Sharpe of Berea, KY, David N. and Kevin H. Sharpe both of Lexington, KY; 1 daughter, Sandra Jo Brown of Williamstown, KY; 1 sister, Marilee Boyd of Paducah, KY; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY, with burial to follow in the Williamstown Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00pm to 7:00pm Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the funeral home.
