Stephen Lee Bridgers

March 23, 1944 - December 3, 2011

Stephen Lee Bridgers, a Dry Ridge resident, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood at the age of 67. Mr. Bridgers is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mrs. Rosa Lee Tomlinson Bridgers.

Mr. Bridgers was a retired maintenance worker from Arvin-Meritor of Florence, formerly known as Rockwell. Until his passing, he recently and proudly worked for his son's business, Clearview Cleaning of Florence, KY. Mr. Bridgers was a former Marine, a member of the Wilmington Baptist Temple, in Wilmington, OH, American Legion, NRA, and the National Fire Protection Assoc. He loved woodworking, Nascar, hunting, fishing, golf, auto maintenance and most importantly, spending time with his grandchildren and family.

In addition to his wife, Rosa Lee, Stephen is survived by two sons, David Bridgers (Tara) of Florence, KY, Kevin Bridgers (Erin Rachelle) of Independence, KY, four daughters, Gina Marie Bridgers of Orange Co., CA, Tara Poe (Dustin) of Independence, KY, Julie Bridgers of Dry Ridge, KY, Tracy Stidham of Georgetown, KY, two Brothers Willie Jasper Bridgers, Jr., of Fontana Valley, CA, Donald Bridgers of Newbern, NC, one sister Carolyn Bowen of Greenville, NC, and thirteen grandchildren, Brittney, Nicollete, Serena, Payten, Katrina, Collin, Devon, Cheyenne, Connor, Mary Ann, Rebekkah, Lauryn, and Christian. One son, Timothy Scott Bridgers, preceded Stephen in death.

Visitation for Mr. Bridgers will be Thursday, Dec. 8, from 5-8pm and the funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 9, at 1230pm, both at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St, Williamstown, KY. Burial will follow with military honors at the KY Veterans Cemetery North, Williamstown, KY. Memorials are to the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home.
