Ellena G Hamilton

November 2, 1918 - September 2, 2011

Mrs. Ellena G. Hamilton of Florence, formerly of Verona, KY, passed away at her residence on Friday, September 2, 2011 at the age of 92. She was the widow of Fred H. Hamilton and the daughter of the late Hobert and Flossie Mae Webster Greenwell.

Mrs. Hamilton was a homemaker and a funeral director. She and her husband were the previous owners of the Hamilton - Stanley Funeral Home of Verona, KY. She was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church of Verona, KY, an organist for over 50 years, a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist & New Bethel Baptist W.M.U. and a long time member of the Crittenden Rook League.

In addition to her husband, Ellena was preceded in death by two sons, Phillip A. and Fred H. Hamilton II, and one brother Atwood Greenwell.

Mrs. Hamilton is survived by one son James R. Hamilton of Orlando, FL, one daughter Karen Hamilton-LaRosa of Florence, KY, eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 6 from 5-9 pm at the Hamilton - Stanley Funeral Home in Verona, KY. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 pm with a 12-2pm lie in state at the New Bethel Baptist Church in Verona, KY.
