Freddie Fortner

Freddie Wayne Fortner was born in Grant County, Kentucky onAugust6, 1935 and passed awayat the St. ElizabethMedical Center, Grant County in Williamstown, Kentucky on August 14,2011 at the age of 76. He was the son of the late Ethel and Julia Ann ParsonsFortner.

His wife, Freda Marie Osborne Fortner preceded him in death on December 14, 2008. Mr.Fortner is survived by daughters: Carnita "Nita" Foster of Louisville, KY, Anna Marie Doss of Lawrenceburg, KY, Lana Elaine Bailey of Midway, KY and SandraDee Patton of Lexington, KY; son: Michael Wayne Fortner of Frankfort, KY; brothers: Franklin Fortner of Wolford,TX,Bobby Fortner of Dallas, TXand Phillip Fortner of Corinth, KY; sisters: Freida Locke of Warsaw, KY and Emma Catherine Anderson of Covington, KY; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

A member of the Lawrenceville Baptist Church, Mr. Fortner was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an auto mechanic for many years at Claude Brown's Garage in Corinth, KY.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 - 3:00 PM Tuesday. Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Holbrook, Kentucky. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
