Wanda Jump Samford

March 24, 1936 - May 13, 2011

A Dry Ridge resident, Wanda Jump Samford, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood at the age of 75.

On March 24, 1936, Wanda Joyce Jump was born in Elliston, Ky to the late Bernard Thomas Jump and Daisy Margie Alexander. On January 1, 1955 Wanda was united in marriage to William Samford, with whom she was devoted to for 38 years til his death on January 8, 1993.

Mrs. Samford was owner and partner with her husband of Boone Steel Corporation in Florence, KY between 1977 and 1997. She was a devoted housewife, and a great mom and grandmother. She had a passion for music and played the piano for the Vine Run Baptist Church for more than 35 years.

Mrs. Samford was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Hope McClure and is survived by one daughter, Teresa 'Teri' Woodyard of Dry Ridge, KY, one brother Thomas Jump of Dry Ridge, KY, one sister Shelda Webster of Nashville, TN, six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Samford will be Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 5-8 pm at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Homein Williamstown, KY. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Jonesville I.O.O.F. cemetery in Jonesville, KY. Memorials aresuggested to the Isaiah House, P.O.
