February 17, 1919 - May 7, 2011

Green Merrell Morris was born on Bennett Road in Williamstown, Kentucky in Grant County on February 17, 1919 and passed away at his residence in the Sherman Community of Grant County, Kentucky on May 7, 2011 at the age of 92. He was the son of the late Greenberry Kelly and Alice Winn Brewer Morris.


G.M., as he was widely known, is survived by his two daughters: Marilyn Fabre of Villa Hills, KY and Kathryn Howell of Dry Ridge, KY; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Six sisters preceded him in death: Evelee Maines, Flora Bell Bruggen, Luflossie Weise, Lillian McGee, Mary Elberta Morris and Romania Zynch.


Mr. Morris was a supervisor for the Chrysler Corporation in the manufacture of NASA's Apollo rocket booster engines. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and remained a member of the Lawrenceville Baptist Church.


Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Friends may call at the funeralhome from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Burial will follow in the Williamstown Cemetery. Donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
