Emery Ellis Faulkner was born in Powell County, Kentucky on September 6, 1923 and passed away at his residence in Grant County, Kentucky on March 27, 2011 at the age of 87. He was the son of the late Herbert Earl and Elsie Mae Perkins Faulkner.


On December 21, 1946, Emery was united in marriage with the former Joyce Oneida Pelfrey. In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Faulkner is survived by two daughters: Anita (Brad) Gerretson of Williamstown, KY and Markeeta Crupper of Williamstown, KY; three sons: Marvin G. Faulkner (Karen) of Williamstown, KY, Larry Dean (Joyce) Faulkner of Alexandria, KY and Irvin Mitchell (Peggy Wainscott) Faulkner of Williamstown, KY; four brothers: Jouett Faulkner of Dry Ridge, KY, Billy Faulkner of Dry Ridge, KY, Jack Faulkner of Dry Ridge, KY, Roger Faulkner of Latonia, KYand Roy Faulkner of Taylor Mill, KY; three sisters: Thelma Henry of Dry Ridge, KY, Eva Croy of Dry Ridge, KY and Myrtle Chaney of Park Hills, KY; 13 grandchildren; 15 and 2/3 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Two brothers: Courtland Faulkner and Leon Kaywood Faulkner and one sister: Nancy Mineo preceded Emery in death.


Mr. Faulkner was a Kentucky Colonel, an avid fisherman and hunter and proud to be a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a longtime machinist for Gilbert Machine and Tool Corporation in Cincinnati, OH.


Funeral services will be Noon, Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097 with visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from 5:00 - 9:00 PM. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North in Williamstown, KY. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
