Rev R T Daugherty

September 16, 1914 - February 25, 2011

Rev. R. T. Daugherty was born in England, Arkansas on Sept. 16, 1914 and passed away in New Port Richey, Florida on February 25, 2011 at the age of 96. He was the son of the late Anthony Thomas and Claudia Pearl Turner Daugherty.

On September 26, 1942 he married the former Rita Lucille Orr who preceded him in death on September 1, 1997. From this union two children were born: Loretta Hitchcock of Hudson, FL and Raymond Paul Daugherty of Sadieville, KY. One brother, J.A.Daugherty of Vacaville, CA, 9 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren also survive.

Bro. Daugherty remained a member and was "Pastor Emeritus" of the Williamstown Baptist Church in Williamstown, KY where he pastored for more than 25 years. He was ordained in 1946 and served many churches throughout Northern Kentucky. He taught several Courses on the Bible and served as host for a Radio program in Detroit, MI. R.T. wrote numerous articles for many publications including a column for the Grant County News for 15 years. Active in many religious organizations throughout Northern Kentucky he was also active in other community activities: Grant Masonic Lodge, Oleika Shrine, Covington Scottish Rite, Grant County Planning & Zoning Commission, Williamstown Board of Adjustments, Williamstown Kiwanis, Locust Grove Junior Order, Grant County Historical Society, volunteer Chaplain of St. Elizabeth Grant County where the Chapel is named in his honor. Many other honors and memberships could be shown.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at the Williamstown Baptist Church, 214 N. Main St. Williamstown, KY. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 PM, Tuesday at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY with a one hour visitation from 10 - 11 AM on Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow in the Williamstown Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Williamstown Baptist Church Library.
