John D. Risen, 84 of Williamstown died Saturday, February 19, 2011 at his winterresidence in Bowling Green, Florida following a long illness.
mr. Risen retired from the A T & T Companyas a communication technician with 42 years of service. He was a member of the Williamstown Baptist Church, Williamstown, KY; a member and past Master of Grant Lodge #85 F&AM; a member of Oleika Shrine Temple, Lexington, KY; a member of Indra Consistory of the Scottish Rite, Covington, KY; Grant County Historical Society; the Grant County Republican Club; a former member of the Dry Ridge Kiwanis Club; a former member of Grant County Shrine Club and a member of the KY Draft Horse Association.
He was the son of the late John Denny and Elvira Frances Scroggins Risen. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Mark Risen.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Edna Pollard Risen; a brother, Arnold Denny Risen of Cleveland, OH; a sister, Ruth Elvira Sterling of Silver Springs, MD; three nephews and one niece.
Visitation will be 4pm to 8pm, Friday, February 25, 2011 with funeral service 2 pm, Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 North Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Burial will be in the Williamstown Cemetery, Williamstown, KY.
