Mamie Brooks Cooke

August 24, 1932 - January 20, 2011

Mamie Bell Brooks Cooke, of Walton, Kentucky,was born in Verona, Kentucky on August 24, 1932 and passed away at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood, Kentucky on January 20, 2011 at the age of 78. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Lee and Doretta Hazel Collins Brooks.

Mrs. Cooke was a sales clerk for McElroy's Carry Out in Walton. She is survived by her daughters: Betty Cheeks of Crescent Springs, KY and Georgia Frederick of Frisco, TX; her sons: Donald Cooke and William Cooke, both of Walton, KY; her sister: Virginia Holbrook of Louisville, TX; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by two sons, James Clifford and Kenneth Lee Cooke and a grandson, Brian Lee Cooke.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cooke will be Monday, January 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Hamilton - Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton-Verona Rd., Verona, KY 41092. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Burial will take place in the Independence Cemetery, Independence, Kentucky.
