Robert Thomas "Bob" Fuchs

November 30, 1927 - December 11, 2010

Robert Thomas "Bob" Fuchs, 83, of Edgewood, KY passed away at 12:30pm at the Baptist Village in Erlanger, KY after a long battle with Alzheimers.

Visitation will be 12:00noon - 1:00pm on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona, KY, with funeral services at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona, KY.

Robert was born Nov. 30, 1927 in Cincinnati, OH, the son of the late Daniel and Elizabeth (Walters) Fuchs. A member of the Simon Kenton High School basketball team, he graduated in 1945 and joined the U.S. Army. Following honorable military service, he graduated with a bachelors degree in electrical engineering from the University of Kentucky in 1950. Robert was a member of the Tau Beta Pi Association, the oldest engineering honor society in the U.S. and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He began his 36 year career at General Motors in Norwood, OH and continued in Tarrytown, NY, and Flint, MI; and later returned to Norwood. He retired as a Senior Engineer in 1986. Following retirement, he continued to consult for General Motors and Overhead Door Co. and continued with his avocations of furniture building, house remodeling and gardening.

Robert was a life long Mason and 60 year member in good standing of the Good Faith Masonic Lodge #95 F&AM in Florence, Ky. He married Marilyn Ann Worster of Independence on June 7, 1952. They enjoyed 58 years together.

Robert was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Anne Greene, Betty Foley, and Dottie Cason. He is survived by his wife Marilyn; 3 children, Karen Beauchamp of Urbana, IL; R. Thomas Fuchs of Park Hills, KY; and Rick Fuchs of Independence, KY; 3 grandchildren, Jaime Criel of Covington, KY; Robb Foxx of Albuquerque, NM; and Nathan Beauchamp of Urbana, IL; and 1 sister Mary Joan Hensley of Edgewood, KY.
