Robert Allen Nix

January 9, 1929 - November 25, 2010

Robert A. Nix of Holbrook, KY, was born Jan. 9, 1929. He passed away at his residence on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010 at the age of 81 years.

Robert was the son of the late Laurel C. and Mildred T. Martin Nix. He was a farmer and bulldozer operator, and a member and deacon of the Bethany Baptist Church. He was united in marriage on July 22, 1950 to Virginia Brown.

In addition to being survived by his wife of 60 years Virginia, he is also survived by 1 daughter, Catherine Thomas of Severna Park, MD; 3 sons, Robert A. Nix Jr.of Dongguan China, DanielR. Nix of Owenton, KY, and Bruce Nix of Frankfort, Ky; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Robert was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Marion David Nix, and 1 sister Eleanora Chandler.

Services will be 11:00am Monday, November 29, 2010 at the Bethany Baptist Church, in Holbrook, KY, with burial in the Bethany Baptist church Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00pm - 7:00pm Sunday, November 28, 2010 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, KY, and after 10:00am Monday, November 29, 2010 at the church.
