Andrew Barton Souder

September 4, 1949 - December 17, 2009

Andrew Barton Souderwas born in Covington, Kentucky on September 4, 1949 and passed away at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky on December 17, 2009 at the age of 60. He was the son of the late Andrew Souder and Roberta Ruth Gaugh Souder Morris of Dry Ridge, KY.

In addition to his mother and his stepfather, G. M. Morris, Barton issurvived by one daughter,Molly Elizabeth McComas of Jonesville, KY; one sister, Sharon Thompson of Georgetown, KY; two grandchildren: Samuel Joseph McComas andOlivia McComas; several nieces and nephewsand many other relatives and friends. A brother, Bryan Souder preceded Bart in death.

Mr. Souder was a graduate of the Grant County High School, a member of the Knoxville Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army. He served in the Vietnam War. Barton was a horse trainer and worked with thoroughbred horses in Bourbon and Fayette counties.

Funeral services for Mr. Souder will be 12:30 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time of the funeral. Burial will follow in the Kentucky State Veterans Cemetery, North in Williamstown, KY. Memorials are suggested to the V.A.Medical Center, Cooper Drive, Lexington, KY.
