Janet Hopkins Wessell

February 21, 1932 - December 6, 2009

Janet Sue Hopkins Wessell was born in Portsmith, Ohio on February 21, 1932 and passed away at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood, Kentucky on December 6, 2009 at the age of 77. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Gladys Juliet Noel Hopkins.

She was the \widow of Carl V. Wessell, Jr. Janet is survived by one daughter: Carla Murphy of Greensburg, Indiana; three sons: BillWessell of Williamstown, Kentucky, Matt Wessell of Florence, Kentucky and David Wessell of Williamstown, Kentucky; two grandchildren: Tristan Murphy and Maci Murphy; two brothers: John Hopkins of Franklin, Ohio and David Max Hopkins of West Carrollton, Ohio and many other relatives and friends. Carl and Janet had one daughter stillborn: Nancy Jo Wessell.

She was a longtime employee of the Grant County Middle School ending as secretary to the Principal. Janet was a member of the Dry Ridge Christian Church where she also was a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship. She volunteered with the Grant County Helping Hands and played golf in the A.T.& T. Ladies Golf League and the Eagle Creek Country Club Ladies League.

Funeral services will be at the Dry Ridge Christian Church, School St., Dry Ridge, KYon Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Bro. Jerry Summers officiating. Visitation will be at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097 on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.

Burial services will be held in the Scioto Burial Park, 4757 McDermott Pond Creek Rd., McDermott, OH 45652 at 3:30 PM Thursday, December 10, 2009. A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Nauvoo United Methodist Church in West Portsmith, Ohio following the burial - approximately 4:30 PM.
