George E Strong

February 18, 1935 - January 31, 2013

George Elbert Strong was born February 18, 1935 in Whick, Kentucky in Breathitt County and passed away at his residence on January 31, 2013 at the age of 77. He was the son of the late Fitch and Margaret Cole Strong.

Mr. Strong is survived by 2 sons: Gary Wayne Strong of Williamstown and Timothy W. Strong of Ft. Mitchell; 1 daughter: Georgia E. Strong of Newport; 2 brothers: James Strong of Berry and Harold Strong of Newport; 3 sisters: Sarah Strong of Whick, Carol Watts of Little and clara Herald of Verona; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Strong was a machinist with Littleford Brothers and Gusher Pump. One brother, Farish "Black" Strong and one sister, Zola Strong both preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Burial will be in the Hen-Strong Cemetery in Whick, Kentucky at 3:00 PM.
