Henry Alvin Cussins

July 5, 1931 - December 29, 2012

Henry Alvin "Shorty" Cussins was born July 5, 1931 in Marienville, Pennsylvania and passed away Dec. 29, 2012 in Edgewood, Kentucky at the age of 81. He was the son of the late Samuel and Arwilda Dunkle Cussins.

On May 19, 1991, Shorty was united in marriage with Carlene Mason Cussins. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Rene Darwish (John) of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sons: Jay Cussins (Jeanine) of Mt. Orab, Ohioand David Cussins of Ripley, Ohio; two stepdaughters: Melissa Combs (Nick) of Verona and Betty McNeese of Latonia; a stepson: Roger Clemons (Joyce) of Edgewood; his sister: Velma McCanna of Marienville, PA; 11 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild as well as several Nieces and Nephews.

Shorty was a retired mechanic for TMI in Walton and was the former owner of Cussins Texaco in Independence. He was an avid Nascar fan, loved hunting, working, and restoring antique cars.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, Jan. 3 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 132 S. Main St., Crittenden, KY 41030. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Napoleon Cemetery in Gallatin Co., KY.
