Emma R Simpson

September 15, 1929 - June 5, 2013

Emma Simpson was born in the community of Stewartsville in Grant County, Kentucky on September 15, 1929 and passed away at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Grant County in Williamstown, Kentucky on June 5, 2013 at the age of 83. She was the daughter of the late Oscar Luther and Corinne Milner Redman.

On February 1, 1947, Emma was united in marriage with Lee Roy Simpson. In addition to her loving husband of over 66 years, she is survived by daughters: Carolyn (Claude) Kinman of Dry Ridge, Cheryl Penick of Wilmington, Ohio, Bonita (Jim) Utech of Granger, Indiana and Lorie (Wesley) Beach of Dry Ridge; son: Kevin (Janie) Simpson of Florence; daughter-in-law:Sherry Simpson (Gordon) of DryRidge;sister: Ruth Sullivan of Dry Ridge; 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A son: Gordon D. Simpson, two daughters: Debra Simpson and Lisa Simpson and a sister: Kathryn Delph all preceded Emma in death.

A long time member of the Flat Creek Elliston Homemakers, Mrs. Simpson was an active member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M., Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 5320 Sherman-Mt.Zion Rd., Dry Ridge, KY 41035. Friends may call 3:00 - 8:00 PM, Saturday, June 8 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097 or at the church on Sunday from 2:00 - 3:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the church. Burial will follow in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
