Clifton R Webster, former resident ofKnoxville, Kentucky in Pendleton County,was born in Verona, Kentucky in Gallatin County on June 14, 1922 and passed away at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Florence, Kentucky on March 14, 2013 at the age of 90. He was the son of the late Estil Otis and Vevie Chapman Webster.
On October 17, 1942, Clifton was united in marriage with the former Kathleen Lawrence. In addition to his loving wife of over 70 years, Mr. Webster is survived by three children: Lawrence R. Webster of York Pennsylvania, Rick D. Webster of Erlanger and Katsia Baird of Mt. Zion; one brother, Leo Webster of Crittenden; four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. His brothers, Glenn Webster and Howard Webster and two grandsons, Daniel Webster and Travis Webster all preceded him in death.
A long time signal maintainer for the L. & N. Railroad, Mr. Webster was an active member at the Knoxville Baptist Church where he served as Adult Men's Sunday School Class Teacher. He served his country during World War II as a Technician with the 780th Amphibious Tank Battalion in the United States Army.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 132 S. Main St., Crittenden, KY 41030. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM, Sunday. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona, KY. Memorial contributions are suggested to the New Bethel Cemetery, P. O. Box 67, Verona, KY 41092.
