Billie Jean Leek was born in London, Kentucky on February 18, 1931 and passed away at her home in Verona, Kentucky on March 9, 2013 at the age of 82. She was the daughter of the late Charles Everett and Mae Edwards Black.


Billie Jean was united in marriage with Walter Clifford Leek on April 20, 1956 who preceded his wife in death on March 12, 1997. Mrs. Leek is survived by her loving children: daughters, Karen Leek of Verona and Marsha Ross of Walton; son, Tony Leek of Verona; stepdaughters: Vicky Stegg of Batavia, OH and Trixie Doll of Turner Station; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Two brothers: Danny Edward Black and Paul Raymond Black and one half brother: Charles Robert "Junior" Bowling died earlier.


A member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, Billie was a secretary for many years for B & B Heating and Air Conditioning and Imperial Heating and Air Conditioning. Memorial contributions are suggested to the New Banklick Baptist Church, 10719 Banklick Pike, Walton, KY 41094.


Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Hamilton - Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton - Verona Rd., Verona, KY 41092. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona.
