Stanley "Pete" "Coot" Ryan

June 24, 1950 - December 9, 2012

Stanley Allen Ryan, Sr. was born in Covington, Kentucky on June 24, 1950 and passed away at his residence in Verona, Kentucky on December 9, 2012 at the age of 62. He was the son of the late Hubert Paul and Mary Blanche Washum Ryan.

"Pete" or "Coot" as he was known widely, was united in marriage with Margaret Belle Ruder on August 4, 1973. In addition to his loving wife, Pete is survived by two sons: Stanley Allen Ryan, Jr. and Ernie Ryan, both of Verona, sisters: Joan Willett of Walton and Betty Johnson of Russellville, KY; brothers: Paul Ryan of Batavia, OH, Wayne Ryan of Verona, Dale Ryan of Verona, Kelly Ryan of Verona and Kevin Ryan of Verona; and a granddaughter, Caydence Ryan.

A member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, Mr. Ryan was a member of the Catmax Catfishing Association. He retired from the Kentucky Department of Parks where he served as a Park Ranger at Big Bone Lick State Park for over 25 years. He retired in 2001.

Funeral services will be 11:00 Friday, December 14, 2012 at the New Bethel Baptist Church, 2012 Verona-Mudlick Rd., Verona, KY 41092. Visitation will be at the church from 4:00 - 9:00 PM Thursday at the church. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona, KY. Memorials may be made to the New Bethel Baptist Church.
