Linda Switzer

Ms. Linda Adams Switzer, 72, of Hodgenville, KY, passed away peacefully in Louisville on Monday, November 26, 2012, after a courageous fight with complications from the 2008 diagnosis of AML Leukemia.

Linda first and foremost was a Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, in which to each she had been a great mentor and friend.She was a native of Dry Ridge, KY, and a 1958 graduate from Grant County High School.Linda was a member of Ovesen Heights Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church in Hodgenville.She was a 1995 breast cancer survivor and she often attended the Celebration of Hope and the Horses of Hope events which honor breast cancer awareness and its survivors.She was a homemaker and a Manager of the former Jr. Food Store in Hodgenville for 23 years.She retired, with glee, in 2002.Along with her strength of character, Linda also had a wonderful sense of humor.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents; Harold C. and Eloise Adams and by her brothers; Bobby and Billy Adams.
She is survived by 4 daughters;Lydia Whitlock of Hodgenville (Greg), Leitha Hunt of Cecilia (Mitch), Tonya Pendleton of Elizabethtown, and Heather Switzer of Hodgenville; 2 brothers, Gene Adams (Pat) of Berry, KY, Jerry Adams (Judy) of Stanford, KY; Sister, Judy Smith Adams of Dry Ridge, KY; and Sister-in-law, Lois Adams (Billy) of Dry Ridge, KY; a special friend, Lewis Williams; and a special daughter,Lisa Cruse; 7 grandchildren, Chad Maupin (Bretney), Brooke Meadows, Madison Maupin, Bradly Akins (Cassie), Coleby Akins (Ashley), Amanda Meadows, and Taylor Pendleton; 2 furry grand pups: Olive and Bocephus Switzer; 4 great grandchildren, Colton Courtois, Jaxsen Akins, Harper Maupin, and Maddix Akins; 3 great furry grand pups: Niko and Jacoby Maupin, and Vinny Akins; as well as, multiple extended family members, acquaintances, and dear friends.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY, with the Rev. Darrell Morgan officiating.Visitation is at 11:00am until 3:00pm. Burial will be in Williamstown Cemetery alongside her father, mother, and brother.
Donations may be extended in lieu of pay it forward'' to those individuals or families whom surround you.As Linda always said, Many times those who are in the most need are the ones that are too proud to ask and need it the most''.A special thank you from Linda and her girls goes to Dr. Don Stephens, her special sugar prune fairy'' nurse, Marcia, the Louisville Oncology, and the Norton Suburban Hospital nurses and staff for being so good to her throughout her illness, and to Sam- her Leukemia buddy, for providing support and sharing the burden along the way.
